Lighting, approach and Locations
I shoot headshots mainly on location throughout LA and OC, meaning at a location outside using natural light (the sun). I prefer this over strobe mainly because of the resulting color. Yes you can get close with studio strobe and some white balance adjustment but, to me it seams their is still a difference. In addition, shooting outside reduces the potential to look posed, sets a free, spontaneous, atmosphere catching you "in the moment" and creates an approachable look that is more likely to get you called in. For your convenience I also shoot with portable studio strobe on location, at your location for your convenience or in a professional studio at an additional hourly rental fee.
What's Included ($200. package)
An entire day devoted to shoot one person. Most shoots usually take 2-3 hours.
You can change as many times as you like, change your hair etc.. no limitation on "looks". Most people do 4 looks.
I will shoot up to 400 pics. I have rarely shot over 300 and most folks are happy and done with less that 200.
All images are processed from raw to jpg and uploaded for review. Some are deleted for technical issues like over exposure or out of focus.
If you have all ready paid at the shoot, full size high resolution images are uploaded to a public folder for review and download.
If you want to see the proofs before payment is made, all images are uploaded but, they are smaller 600 pixel images with a copyright watermark and soon after you approve the proofs and make payment in full the full size images are uploaded.
You can reproduce prints with the high resolution jpg files posted on line.
DVD's of all jpg and raw files are also available at your request at no extra charge. Some retouchers like to work from the raw file (digital negative). Few people ask for the dvd's???
You also get a full retouch done on 2 headshots if requested. Some shots mainly with the men don't really need any retouching but it is part of the package and you must request the retouching to be done and specify the 2 files by file name. I offer retouching additional images at $10 ea.
I will also make up to 10 small thumbnail images at your request for on line use and casting sites like Actors Access and LA Casting at no additional charge and post them on line in a thumbnail folder and also include them on the dvd, you will need to send me the file names.
Guarantee
I do not charge a sitting fee or any up front cost for the shoot. Studio space cost me out of pocket to reserve and is not refunded back to me if some one gets an audition or just decides to flake out therefore this is needed in advance. I basically shoot you for free. I can show you the work in progress on my cameras lcd or on my laptop during the shoot. Because of this most people pay me at the end of the shoot knowing they are getting what they pay for. My guarantee is results. If you do not get good results at the shoot do to technical issues or weather beyond control or you are simply dissatisfied with the way I shot you I offer to re shoot at no charge at my next available time slot at the same location or new location with your agreement. If you do not get good results for something beyond my control like you did not like the way you looked that day or you had the wrong clothing or hair doo, I offer to re shoot at no additional charge but I pick the date and location within reason and if the pictures are technically good you will have to make at least 1/2 payment before I will re shoot for personal non technical issues and you will only get the files from one shoot not both uless you pay for both.
If after reviewing the on line proofs you are not satisfied with the results and you do not want to re shoot no payment is required, unfortunately I am not able to reimburse you for your time. When you approve the on line proofs full payment is required before the full size images are uploaded or any retouching is done or a copy of the images on dvd are made available to you. Once full payment is made I will do my best to make everything you request available ASAP. Upload of large files are available next time I get to my computer. Retouching can take me 2 days to get to and complete it can sometimes take a good hour on one photo but I usually have them done within 24hrs. DVD with all images you request including jpg and raw files also will be mailed within 2 business days of having all processing completed or we can meet to deliver.
Terms
You agree not to download any images of yourself until payment is made.
You agree not download any images from any other clients folders.
Note: without full payment only small proofs with copyright watermark will be available on line for review.
I do not shoot models in bikinis or shirts off of dudes or the like, strictly theatrical, commercial headshots. I do not use a hair and makeup artist but you are welcome to bring one.
I do not shoot children unless both the child and the parent understands the value and proccess of headshots. I do not do any printing. Serious actors only please.
Copyright Notice
Regarding your headshots, once payment is received, you will have an exclusive license to copy, reproduce, resize, distribute, print and reprint for any self promotion purpose. Your headshots may not be used for any commercial use meaning for example used to sell cans of soda. If Wheaties wants to put you on there box with one of the photos they will have to pay me something. Note my personal policy is that your pictures will never be licensed or sold without your request and consent. I do reserve the right to use any photo I take of anything anywhere for portfolio purposes only.
